Devon House

Jamaica’s First Black Millionaire’s Mansion

Step back in time and relive the glitz and glamour of the plantation era in Jamaica.
This 19th Century Georgian style architecture was the home of Jamaica’s first Black Millionaire and stands as a celebrated historical landmark in the capital, Kingston.

Visiting Devon House is more than seeing the grand furnishings of George Stiebel’s former mansion… more than learning of how he triumphed over adversities after being born the son of a black housekeeper and a Jewish father in the 1820’s.

At Devon House, you will now find a diverse offering of shops with Jamaica’s finest Arts and craft, a picturesque site for some of the most celebrated weddings, restaurants for fine dining and of course Devon House “I SCREAM”.

Many people visit just for the ice cream as they boast a wide assortment of flavours which includes some of Jamaica’s most exotic fruits.
